New FirstSpirit version fulfils the strictest requirements for content management

New Content Workplace relieves administrators

e-Spirit AG will present the latest edition - Version 4 - of the FirstSpirit content management system at this year’s Systems trade fair in Munich from 23 to 26 October. The current release was carefully updated to respond accordingly to the increasing demands of the content management market. FirstSpirit 4 shows its strengths primarily in the way it handles extremely complex and large-scale projects, particularly in the context of globally active companies.

An additional focus at this year’s trade fair, where e-Spirit will be located in Hall A2 Stand 317, is the Content Workplace for editors in the SAP NetWeaver Portal. With the aid of this expanded functionality, this is the first time that the role-specific tasks of the content editor and the administrator in the SAP portal environment can be combined and organized for a single person. The coordination effort required by the editor and administrator is thereby minimized, while publication processes are markedly simplified and accelerated. The administrator is able to concentrate on core tasks such as backend connections or configuring and releasing iViews and roles, while the editor can simply and quickly arrange not only editorial content but also released application iViews on portal pages.

High-end content management

FirstSpirit 4 offers numerous expansions of existing functions, for example improvements in historisation, versioning and translation, as well as additional advantages for technology partners and developers. This optimises the time required for editing, especially for very large projects. FirstSpirit 4 ensures that even data volumes exceeding 250,000 pages and a million media (images, Word documents, PDFs, etc.) can be handled problem-free by up to 1,000 editors working in parallel in minimal time. Thus FirstSpirit 4 is also able to meet the requirements of large corporations.

Content Workplace for editors of the SAP NetWeaver Portal
With this Content Workplace, e-Spirit AG also presents a comfortable interface that enables drag-and-drop for the free administration of all content and application iViews and portal pages in the SAP portal. The portal editor can now administer the portal interface (GUI) for the corresponding roles without the help of an administrator, including adjusting the entire portal navigation structure or imbedding portal iViews (application and content iViews).

Complete information about FirstSpirit 4 and the FirstSpirit Content Workplace for editors in the SAP NetWeaver® Portal will be available soon.

12.10.2007, Christiane Capps
