Together with HLP Informationsmanagement GmbH, e-Spirit AG will present a new function of the FirstSpirit content management system at this year’s Systems trade fair: Content Workplace for editors in the SAP NetWeaver Portal.

The two companies have already enabled the CMS to be seamlessly integrated into the SAP portal with the Business Package for FirstSpirit. And the new Content Workplace for editors in the SAP NetWeaver Portal developed by HLP now offers a solution for overcoming traditional IT and specialist division role allocation in favour of speed and efficiency.

e-Spirit’s trade fair presentation in Hall A2, Stand 317 will focus on the Content Workplace and the new FirstSpirit Version 4.

Easier, faster, more independent

Usually, a web editor is responsible for maintaining the content of a company’s intranet, and the portal administrator is in charge of the applications. The role-specific tasks of the web editor and the portal administrator are combined on an organisational level in the Content Workplace for editors in the SAP NetWeaver Portal.

This allows the administrator to concentrate on core tasks such as backend connections or configuring and releasing iViews and roles, while the editor can simply and quickly arrange editorial content and released application iViews on portal pages.

Next-generation company portal

A convenient interface enables the free administration of all content and application iViews and portal pages in the SAP portal using drag-and-drop. The Content Workplace further allows the portal editor to manage the portal interface (GUI) for the corresponding roles independent of the portal administrator, including adjusting the entire portal navigation structure or embedding portal iViews (application and content iViews). WCMS pages and portal iViews and pages (e.g., from ERP Business Packages) can be created, mixed and structured in any order.

Jörn Bodemann, CEO of e-Spirit AG and head of Product and Business Development, outlines the strategic goals of the new development: "IT and specialist divisions will be more strictly separated from each other in the future than they are now. Each party will be able to focus on the tasks relevant and necessary for fast and optimal implementation in their respective area.”

Thorsten Heid, Managing Director of HLP Informationsmanagement GmbH, adds, "With the Content Workplace, we have created an application that simplifies the work of editors and administrators, offering the user increased convenience when handling complex IT systems.”
