From the beginning of 2008, the Frankfurt am Main-based company’s approximately 2,000 employees will use a professional employee portal as a platform for information, work and communication. FirstSpirit’s Content Management System (CMS) was chosen for the task in combination with the ‘Business Package for FirstSpirit’, and was seamlessly integrated into the SAP NetWeaver Portal. Merz, an innovative and international healthcare company with its own research and development department, wanted to decisively simplify information and work processes on its intranet. The existing employee portal, based on SAP NetWeaver, was extended with the FirstSpirit Content Management System (CMS) and Business Package for FirstSpirit.
Dr. Andrea Kreisselmeier, intranet project manager at Merz, explains: "Our new employee portal means there will be considerably more qualified and user-specific information available to us worldwide. We have thus established a central platform through which employees can access both SAP functionalities and business processes as well as company news and all other information required for everyday tasks. Following a thorough evaluation, we decided together with HLP from Eschborn, Germany, to opt for a service provider highly experienced in SAP integration. FirstSpirit, together with the Business Package for FirstSpirit, is a sophisticated solution which closely meets our requirements for simple yet professional decentralised online editing.”
The go-live date for the employee portal is scheduled for early 2008.
