Ovidius acquires electronic publishing solutions company EasyBrowse

Ovidius GmbH, one of the leading suppliers of XML-based Content Management Systems on the European Market, acquired EasyBrowse EP-Service GmbH on 1 April, 2008. For more than 10 years, EasyBrowse has been developing solutions for electronic publishing that meet the special needs of publishing houses and the publishing industry. With the acquisition of EasyBrowse Ovidius expands its portfolio as supplier of end-to-end solutions for creating, managing and publishing technical documentation.
EasyBrowse has headquarters in Schwerin and an office in Cologne, Germany. The EasyBrowse product suite provides tools for the electronic delivery of all forms of content, on CDROM, DVD or the Internet. Powerful features include the ability to index and search complex and varied content and data. Customers can publish different source formats in one browser interface. The scope of application ranges from electronic books to catalogue systems with online shop features to e-learning applications. Additionally EasyBrowse is a service provider in the field of data preparation and conversion and develops semantic search technologies such as RapiDat.
The management of EasyBrowse will be taken over by Klaus Fenchel and Torsten Machert, who are also managing directors at Ovidius. Our own customers will benefit from flexible and automated solutions for generating electronic on-line and off-line documentation which may range from a simple CDROM to an Internet portal solution" explains Klaus Fenchel.
