The Wiesbaden-based financial-services provider, Delta Lloyd, is at the vanguard of the current drive to improve the online capabilities of IT landscapes in the insurance industry. In the aftermath of its recent relaunch, the company’s website (www.deltalloyd.de) now boasts a new, target group-specific structure and a vastly improved user interface. The focus of further Internet expansion will be on the Sales extranet. This area is to be expanded to become the central working interface for both exclusive and freelance agencies. As well as this, Delta Lloyd is to consolidate all of its existing software systems and external sales-specific websites under one roof. The technological heart of the new online strategy is the pirobase CMS content management system from Pironet NDH.

"The relaunch of our pages and the pirobase CMS upgrade have provided us with a solid foundation for the future development of our website. This brings us a significant step closer to our goal of providing our sales partners with a working interface that encompasses all the relevant functions and services,” explains Bettina Vier, Internet Consultant at Delta Lloyd. The new software makes it possible to display text and online applications in blocks, which can then be incorporated within multiple pages. "This makes our whole website appear tidier and clearer. The associated editorial work has also become a great deal more efficient than it was before the relaunch, because now we only need to store and maintain the content at one central location,” comments Vier.

Business Processes Are Moving Online

pirobase CMS also supports access to online premium-calculators and policy-holder status information systems via one uniform web-interface. "With Pironet NDH on board, we can develop our extranet on a more process-oriented basis. Our sales partners should then be able to use our platform to prepare and complete their work at any time and in any place,” says Vier.

"The example of Delta Lloyd shows how business processes are moving more and more online. As a result of this, websites are gradually turning into appetizers for the company’s back-end processes and systems. This concept was a significant factor in the development of pirobase CMS: We sought not just to respond to the latest web-trends but also to support the online integration of databases and management systems,” says Konstantin Stergiopoulos, leader of the Financial Services Sales department - amongst others - at Pironet NDH.
