empolis integrates JustSystems' XMetaL into its e:CLS content management solution
empolis GmbH (Gütersloh, Germany) and JustSystems Corp. (Vancouver, Canada) have signed a cooperation agreement for the integration of their complementary XML products. XMetaL Author, JustSystems’ award-winning XML editor, and XMetaL XMAX, an embeddable ActiveX component, have been integrated into the empolis:Content Lifecycle Suite (e:CLS). Through this integration empolis customers are able to seamlessly edit and manage XML content within e:CLS enabling easy creation, structuring, maintenance and reuse of XML content.
e:CLS is a state-of-the-art component content management system for XML and many other formats. The system supports editorial processes, translation and the publication of technical documentation for legal, scientific, media and other publishing organizations. e:CLS’s unique capabilities in information object modularization allow for and make content repurposing and dynamic publishing a reality.
XMetaL is easy and quick to configure and is individually adaptable to practically any publishing environment. Using XMetaL, authors and technical writers can collaboratively manage their structured content in accordance with XML standards such as DITA, DocBook, S1000D, and many others. An open, extremely flexible API allows for smooth integration into other systems and workflows. In the area of technical product information, XMetaL is the authoring software of choice and together with e:CLS create a powerful, easy to use environment for the end-to-end process for dynamic publishing.
