New eZ Publish 4.1 brings ease-of-use topowerful Enterprise scale websites with full support

eZ Systems has announced the release of the very expected eZ Publish 4.1, which is designed to power web properties working with rich and various content assets. Historically known as a flexible content management framework, eZ Publish enables web centric organizations to scale and to grow their online businesses while getting full support, maintenance and guarantees through eZ Publish Premium. This eZ Publish 4.1 release focuses on User Experience, Scalability and Performances, three axes of high importance for enterprise users of eZ. These enhancements are a result of the company's work with the most demanding customers inacross all industries the publishing and finance industries.

A new user experience for more efficiency

eZ Publish 4.1 comes with a new Online Editor (5.0) allowing users to write web content as if they were working with their favorite word processor in their favorite language. This new full XML WYSIWYG editor provides even better support out of the box for usability and accessibility standards. eZ Publish 4.1 provides also a multi-upload function enabling users to mass publish any content type from any computer through their web browser : documents, pictures, videos and more. Those new elements combined with an updated version of eZ's Portal Management solution (eZ Flow) increase drastically the efficiency of any content contributor as reporters, journalists or editors.

A powerful platform for complex workflows and high scalability

After the release of eZ's Enterprise Search engine ( eZ Find 2.0) one month ago, eZ Publish 4.1 positions even more eZ as an Open Source leader able to serve the most demanding web properties. More flexibility has been added to eZ Publish unique content engine enabling companies to build the most advanced workflows. An improved caching system optimizes performance for very high traffic websites even those set up in a clustered environment. These enhancements as well as the official support of Oracle as a database back end and Solaris as operating system are huge steps forward for eZ in the Enterprise landscape.
