CoreMedia CMS prevails against SharePoint

Following its takeover of Siemens VDO Automotive AG, international automotive component supplier Continental opts in favour of CoreMedia CMS as the content management system of choice throughout the organisation. As a result, following an internal selection process the WCMS on SharePoint of former Siemens VDO will be replaced by CoreMedia and a uniform system will be established.
"We’re delighted to have delivered compelling proof of our technology and can thus contribute to the successful work of Continental. Smooth, seamless collaboration across territorial borders is a decisive factor of success for many companies operating in a globalized economic environment", says Sören Stamer, CEO of CoreMedia.
"Our task in the course of the various CMS installations of both groups was to find the ideal solution in terms of flexibility, integration potential and costs for the group as a whole," explains Karsten Kansy, the IT Project Head responsible at Continental AG. "As part of this project, we plan to migrate the content, layout and functionalities of the Internet and Intranet pages of former Siemens VDO to form a new CoreMedia CMS infrastructure."
The Continental Group operating with a global reach has already deployed the CoreMedia CMS as a content management solution throughout the organisation since 2001. Using this technology, all international Internet presences of the various group brands are efficiently managed on a centralized platform. At the same time, the system ensures a high degree of flexibility in regards of page layout. "The editorial processes and internal corporate procedures are ideally supported by CoreMedia CMS. Content of the individual Internet presences can be conveniently maintained and new websites can be created without external effort and expense," adds Monika Andrae, Head of Online Relations at Continental.01.04.2009, Tina Kulow
