Stadtwerke Erfurt boosts internet presence with pirobase CMS 7.1
In order to help structure and maintain its websites, the public utility conglomerate Stadtwerke Erfurt Gruppe (SWE) has decided to employ the Enterprise Content Management solution pirobase CMS 7.1. Working in tandem with SWE’s in-house IT firm, Bsys Mitteldeutsche Beratungs- und Systemhaus GmbH, pirobase’s expert term will roll out the solution on the group website, followed by other domains (e.g. the Egapark Gardens website). The pirobase CMS 7.1 solution will be integrated into SWE’s SAP NetWeaver portal, where it will provide supplemental functions and an intuitive user interface.
Stadtwerke Erfurt Gruppe’s SWE brand unites more than 20 companies and affiliates in areas of competence such as energy and water provision, regional public transport, operation of swimming pools, car parks and the Egapark Gardens, as well as waste disposal. These all have their own websites that provide their private and corporate clients with easy access to information and services. The SAP NetWeaver portal serves as a technical basis for these websites, and is used to load and update their content.
By introducing pirobase CMS, SWE will simplify the maintenance of its websites by administrators from the various departments of the Group, while also enhancing the online sites’ quality and topicality. The solution will expand the functionality of the SAP system, facilitate content-editing by web administrators, and allow for the use of new online tools to improve customer communication. Because of its run-capability in the SAP Web Application Server (SAP WAS), pirobase CMS 7.1 will fit seamlessly into the existing infrastructure while keeping implementation costs down. This fully web-based solution also has other benefits: easy linkup to external and internal content; support for a variety of browsers; integration of the SAP search engine TREX; and the ability to use additional output channels in parallel to the SAP portal (multi-channel publishing).
Following the complete rollout of pirobase 7.1 CMS, Stadtwerke Erfurt Gruppe plans to also launch the solution on its group-wide intranet system, where it can be used by all of SWE’s roughly 1,800 employees.
