Workflow Feature Ensures Content Accuracy and Accountability by Requiring Review and Approval

Smartwebs, provider of intuitive and scalable Web-based content management applications, today announced a significant upgrade to its workflow system across all of the company’s Web content management products. The new workflow system now allows businesses to ensure a further layer of accuracy and accountability by requiring the review and approval of Web content before it is published to a company Web site or Intranet.

This advanced workflow feature utilizes multiple levels of user roles for content creation and content approval. Knowing the lifecycle of content on a Web site is extremely important to a company’s overall success. Smartwebs’ upgraded workflow system features an email notification to alert designated approvers of pending requests, and a content history feature which automatically creates an audit trail for accountability and compliance.

“Smartwebs upgraded workflow feature is designed to add an additional layer of accuracy and accountability,” said Chuck Murphy, founder and president of Smartwebs. “The approval process ensures tracking of all actions and creates an audit trail that meets the needs of many of the government regulatory requirements.”

“The Smartwebs solution is so easy to use, yet both powerful and flexible enough to meet our clients’ needs,” said Tom Subak from The e Organization, a reseller partner of Smartwebs. “The workflow feature has helped our clients to improve the accuracy of their Web content and ensures that their content is always up-to-date, providing a great Web site experience for their users.”

Smartwebs IRT Solution Overview

Each of the following components can be added individually or together as part of a complete package.

- Content Manager – Allows customers to update Web pages in real time. It can be integrated into either a new or existing site and updating is as easy as cutting and pasting. Content Manager is easy to use for novices as well as experienced Web professionals, and powerful enough to handle regular updates for even the largest Web site or intranet.

- Site Builder –Intended for users who want to do more than simple updates. Users can dynamically control an entire site, including creation of new pages and content areas.

- Developer – Allows users to create and customize stand-alone sub sites in conjunction with Smartwebs Site Builder. Sub-site creation is a one-step process that requires no programming, file transfer or database set-up.

- Modules – Predefined components that allow users to perform department specific tasks. Users can add one or more modules as needed. Current modules include: Events, News, Press Releases, Job Openings, Forms, Polls, and Document Management.
