SER Integrates AuthentiDate Signature Modules

AuthentiDate International AG, a subsidiary of AuthentiDate Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: ADAT), announced today that SER Solutions Deutschland GmbH has integrated the AuthentiDate technology as a strategic signature component of its established DOXiS Enterprise Content Management Suite. SER Solutions is a German strategic IT partner that provides electronic archiving, process-oriented and knowledge-based document management for 500 German corporations with 250,000 installations.
SER's clients may now benefit from cost reductions through the integration of AuthentiDate's technology by optimizing its business processes and improving electronic archiving by using legal binding digital signatures and timestamps. Digital Signatures are now available to use with scanning, workflow and archiving systems. AuthentiDate's digital signature modules, already used by many companies, provide all required functions for secure generation and verification of digital signatures and qualified time stamps, including long-term archiving.
While financial terms where not disclosed, AuthentiDate stated that it will generate revenues through initial license fees, user runtime license fees, and transaction fees.
Many corporations can achieve substantial operating efficiencies and cost savings by receiving signed electronic bills and other documents. In these cases, the legally mandated verification and subsequent archiving of the bills and other documents including related digital signatures pursuant to the German legal requirements for booking (GDPdU and GoBS) are processed by the AuthentiDate signature modules in SER's DOXiS Archive.
Similarly, SER's customers in the areas of health care and public authorities can also realize benefits from the new integrated digital signature functions of the SER DOXiS Archive. Legally relevant documents, which are signed during scanning, may subsequently be verified and archived for long term in the DOXiS Archive. Furthermore, electronic approval procedures with DOXiS Workflow, which may now be processed with legal certainty and entirely paperless, using the AuthentiDate signature technology, will offer significant optimization and cost reduction potential also for the insurance industry.
In addition, the integrated new long-term archiving function includes a resigning option, which ensures legal certainty of 30 years when using legal binding digital signatures. Current SER users may benefit from these new functions without exchanging their installed systems. The AuthentiDate technology operates on the server in the background and completely transparently to the user and thus does usually not require any client software installations or individual user training.
"With AuthentiDate, we have found a strategic partner who specializes in the signature market and is able to provide us with all required components from one single source. Therefore, we can very rapidly complement our installed base and provide leading edge digital signature tools to our current and future customers for improving their competitiveness and for taking advantage of new opportunities for cost reductions," said Dr. Gregor Joeris, Product Manager of SER Solutions.
Marc T. Willems, Member of the Board of AuthentiDate International AG, added: "We are glad to be integrated into SER's offerings and software, which is a successful well known and established solution provider within the Enterprise Content Management Market. This integration is a further step in our strategy to be integrated into the world leading ECM vendors. With SER we are able to recommend to our customers one of the leading vendors transforming paper based processes to electronic processing while preserving legal certainty." 06.04.2004, SER Solutions Deutschland GmbH
