Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the world's next-generation enterprise content management (ECM) company, today announced that TeamSite 6.0 Content Server software, the industry's leading Web content management (WCM) product, has been adopted by a record number of customers since its release just six months ago. This achievement eclipses the earlier record on TeamSite 5.5, effectively doubling the rate of adoption set by the previous version of the software. Much of the rapid adoption is driven by the world-class user interfaces introduced in TeamSite 6.0 that enable business-focused individuals anywhere in the enterprise to participate in the content publishing and review processes. TeamSite 6.0 provides the foundation for enterprises implementing Web content management for powering Internet, extranet, and intranet properties.

Many customers are already reporting significant success with Interwoven TeamSite 6.0. One such customer is Energen Corporation, a diversified energy company with headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama, which recently completed an upgrade to TeamSite 6.0 to underpin its intranet. Alabama Gas Corporation (Alagasco), Energen's natural gas utility, provides clean-burning, energy-efficient natural gas to approximately 463,000 homes, businesses and industries in central and parts of north Alabama.

"The Interwoven content platform is a critical part of our e-business infrastructure, and has quickly become the backbone of our content management strategy," says Calvin Baker, intranet manager at Energen. "Recently, we were able to work with Interwoven Professional Services to upgrade to TeamSite 6.0 and MetaTagger as part of a re-design for our intranet site. We are leveraging the new user interfaces in TeamSite 6.0 and new workflows and templates created during the re-design project to further extend Interwoven throughout our organization."

With more than 130 years of experience, Interwoven TeamSite 6.0 customer Holland America is recognized as the leader in the cruise industry's premium segment. Its 13 premium ships sail to more than 280 ports of call on all seven continents, ranging from popular Caribbean and Alaska itineraries to exotic cruises to the far corners of the world. In 2004, Holland America Line will grow its passenger capacity by about 13% percent over 2003.

"Customer service is synonymous with the travel industry, and in particular with the way Holland America is committed to serving its worldwide customer base," said Janet Kelley, IT project manager for Holland America. "Since moving to Interwoven's TeamSite 6 platform, the new, easy-to-use interface has facilitated the rollout of the product to our less technical users across the organization, enabling them to post information to our site in a more timely manner. Ultimately Interwoven enhances our time-to-market with important information for our customers -- including detailed information on everything from menus to shore excursions -- helping us to maintain a competitive edge."

The TeamSite 6 Platform

Interwoven's content management offering extends access to all business users and enables them to maintain control and distributed ownership of content across the enterprise. Over the course of the product development period, more than 400 customers and partners provided input on TeamSite 6.0. With a unified user experience, TeamSite 6.0 ultimately extends the benefit of content management across the enterprise by enabling faster time to market, increased workforce productivity, lower end-user support, training, and customization costs.

The Interwoven 6 platform features two core user interfaces built from the ground up using J2EE technology, a revamped FormsPublisher (Templating) engine and user experience, a new UI Toolkit to configure and customize Interwoven interfaces, and an industry-first Services-Oriented Architecture (SOA) enabled by the ContentServices SDK 2.0. TeamSite 6.0 also enables enterprises to leverage BEA and IBM application servers to power Interwoven client applications using a J2EE framework.

TeamSite Upgrade Now Available

Interwoven also announces today the availability of TeamSite 6.1, further extending usability, scalability, and standards-based WCM infrastructure into the enterprise. This new release builds on the widely successful TeamSite 6 platform that is enabling businesses around the globe to effectively and efficiently build, deploy, and manage critical Internet, intranet, and extranet properties. Key capabilities of the new version include:

Expanded support for BEA WebLogic and IBM WebSphere, enabling businesses to run TeamSite interfaces on industry-standard application and portal servers;

Extended capabilities for content publishing and business process management through the SAP portal;

New solution packaging that enables integrated collaboration and document management for publishing content to intranets and extranets, a critical foundation to Interwoven's vision of Content Networks, which is a new paradigm for managing content within and beyond the enterprise.

"We are delighted that so many of our customers are already realizing the value of TeamSite 6.0," said Kevin Cochrane, vice president, product marketing and Web content management, for Interwoven. "More than two years of design and development and thousands of hours of working closely with our customers has resulted in a product that is clearly world-class - and it's exciting to see customers use it and reap immediate business benefits."
