Vignette Corp. today announced that it has been listed in the leader quadrant in Gartner's 2004 Magic Quadrant for the Horizontal Portal Product Market.1 According to Gartner, leaders who are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market.

"Vignette's leap to a leader quadrant position in the 2004 Gartner Magic Quadrant is a testament to Vignette's ability to rapidly integrate acquired technology with organic development to help drive increased customer efficiencies," said David Shirk, senior vice president of product strategy and worldwide marketing at Vignette. "Our strategic focus on standards-based products with open architecture pays major dividends for our customers. We look forward to continued customer success through increased business efficiency with a broad integrated portal solution, giving employees, suppliers, partners and customers the information, applications and tools they need to work faster and smarter and exceed business goals."

"With our recent enhancements to portal solutions though acquired technology, and synergies with Vignette's Web content management, integration, document and records management and collaboration capabilities, Vignette now offers the robust functionality of a full SES (Smart Enterprise Suite)," Shirk said.

Earlier this month, Vignette announced the general availability of Vignette Application Portal release 7.0, a fully certified, standards-compliant portal that helps to lower total cost of ownership in virtually any portal deployment. As a part of the Vignette® V7 family of products, Vignette Application Portal release 7.0 offers a suite of portal applications that helps increase everyday business efficiency for user constituents, with added capabilities including increased internationalization support, industry-leading support for users with disabilities, and amongst the broadest platform support of any portal product on the market today.
