XyEnterprise, the developer of XML content management and enterprise publishing solutions, announced today that AMSEC LLC, a full-service supplier to the commercial and Navy maritime industry, has deployed the latest releases of XyEnterprise's Content@ content management and XML Professional Publisher (XPP) software for managing and publishing technical data for U.S. Navy aircraft carriers, submarines, and other surface vessels built by Northrop Grumman Newport News.

AMSEC uses the XyEnterprise products to efficiently document and deliver technical data for the manufacture and operation of some of the most complex vessels ever built. The output of the system includes technical data components such as Ship Systems Manuals, Hull Maintenance and Engineering Documents, and Ship Information Books. Each of these content products is delivered in both PDF format and as Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals.

The Content@ content management and workflow system is optimized to manage large volumes of XML, SGML, and other content, as well as executing business rules for assembling and publishing this important information. AMSEC has deployed the Content@ product as an authoring, workflow, and publishing management system. In concert with XyEnterprise's XPP publishing software, the system is used to create and manage content components and to assemble these components into complete documents or deliverables, including complex looseleaf and change-page publications.

Phil Deuell, Program Manager, Digital Publishing Solutions for AMSEC, stated: "Our ability to support the manufacture, delivery, and operation of new aircraft carriers, submarines, and surface vessels requires a scalable content management and publishing system. XyEnterprise's products enable us to create a world-class content lifecycle for mission critical technical data. With XyEnterprise, AMSEC is able to effectively meet the demands of complex product delivery and logistics support."
