Stellent, Inc. announced the release of Version 7 of the Stellent® Content Integration Suite. With Version 7, developers can now embed Content Integration Suite directly into Java applications in order to provide reliable, scalable integration with Stellent® Universal Content Management. In either environment, the suite provides applications with real-time access to content and content management features.
“Stellent Universal Content Management was designed in 1997 as a service-oriented architecture that exposes all of its functionality as services, including Web services, Java and COM,” said Dan Ryan, executive vice president of marketing and business development for Stellent. “Content Integration Suite puts these services into a series of Enterprise JavaBeans, giving customers and partners superior ability to integrate Stellent’s strong content management capabilities with other enterprise applications. In addition, Stellent is the only content management vendor supporting content requests in real time directly from the content management system. This capability gives developers using Content Integration Suite real-time access to the repository -- including content and metadata changes -- instead of a snapshot of the content at some time in the past.”
Stellent Content Integration Suite uses a Java Connector Architecture and Java Message Service functionality when run in a J2EE environment. This approach enables developers using J2EE-compliant systems to easily integrate Stellent Universal Content Management with enterprise applications, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems. In this environment, Stellent Content Integration Suite offers instant access to content and leverages application server benefits, such as asynchronous messaging, connection pooling and clustering.
“Enterprises are creating applications that require access to both structured and unstructured data, as well as access to services, systems and processes,” said Bill Chambers, principal analyst for Doculabs. “While J2EE application servers are utilized to build the composite application, the tight integration of unstructured content and content management services – such as workflow, search, check-in, conversion and Web publishing – are requirements for success in most applications. Version 7 of Stellent’s Content Integration Suite enables today’s organizations to more easily implement applications by enabling them to integrate both content and services to the application dynamically.”
Stellent Content Integration Suite is priced at $30,000 USD. For more information about Content Integration Suite, visit http://www.stellent.com/CIS.
