Factiva, a Dow Jones and Reuters Company, renewed and extended its publisher relationship with Knight Ridder Digital, the online division of Knight Ridder, the United States’ second largest newspaper publisher.

New to Factiva’s collection are the Monterey County (Calif.) Herald and el Nuevo Herald, Miami’s largest Spanish-language newspaper. Through this expanded relationship, Factiva will supply its customers with 31 key U.S. sources, 13 of which are ranked among the top 100 newspapers in the country by circulation.

“Our newspaper brands represent the best sources of news and information in their local markets,” said Ken Doctor, vice president/content services, Knight Ridder Digital. “Factiva’s innovative tools, simplified search interface and impressive customer list make the company an ideal partner to aggressively market our content in the enterprise market. Knight Ridder Digital is selective in its choice of content delivery partners, and we prize our relationship with Factiva.”

“This contract renewal and the addition of two new publications reaffirms that Factiva delivers the world’s most-respected news and business information,” said Simon Alterman, vice president of content at Factiva. “Knight Ridder Digital’s content collection and credibility strengthens our portfolio of news sources for our customers.”
