Documentum Recognizes Excellence and Innovation in Enterprise Content Management

Documentum, provider of enterprise content management and a division of EMC Corporation, announced the Momentum, Documentum's User Conference, Customer Award winners. New to this year's conference, the awards were established to recognize Documentum customers who have deployed innovative solutions using Documentum technology. The awards were presented by Dave De Walt, president of Documentum, during a special awards ceremony.
The award winners spanned five categories and included:
- Best Collaboration Solution:
Airbus, the leading global aircraft manufacturer, implemented Documentum eRoom to provide employees, suppliers and customers with an easy-to-use tool for team collaboration. More than 15,000 users around the world take advantage of Documentum eRoom to manage and collaborate on projects, access content, support processes and share information. Since the implementation of Documentum eRoom, Airbus has seen savings on traveling costs coming from the four National Entities (France, Germany, United Kingdom and Spain), on burning, circulating and maintaining CD's, plus reducing information distribution time to a few minutes.
- Best Digital Asset Management solution:
SIG, one of the world's leading manufacturers of carton packaging for long-life food and non-food products and supplier of food product filling machines, has implemented Documentum Digital Asset Management to create, manage, access and archive all of its corporate photographs and images. The solution helps SIG ensure consistent branding by enabling content reuse, image transformation and information sharing among more than 3,000 users.
- Best Electronic Document Management solution:
ING, a global financial institution, founded in the Netherlands, offers banking, insurance and asset management to more than 60 million private, corporate and institutional clients in more than 65 countries. Because of this large and geographically dispersed customer base, ING had to regionallycentralize back-office activities and synchronize worldwide processes, in order to provide optimal service to clients and achieve stable growth. The Documentum platform helps ING support the approval and tracking of all wholesale transactions and share customer information worldwide.
- Best Web Content Management solution:
BBCi, the British Broadcasting Corporation implemented a Documentum-based content management system for the websites of the corporation's 42 local radio and television stations around England. The system will be used to automate the management of a wide range of content, from text to images and video, ensuring that web content is both consistent and current. This automation will enable 200 geographically distributed online journalists around England to publish to the BBC's websites on demand.
- Best Enterprise Content Management solution:
Aventis Pasteur, the world leader in the production and marketing of influenza vaccines, developed a comprehensive Documentum solution for managing and sharing research and development information across continents. The Documentum solution helps Aventis Pasteur create, review, revise and approve documents for regulatory submissions within an automated and audited environment.
"We are extremely pleased to see that the number of Documentum-based applications that customers have developed continues to grow, as demonstrated by the number and variety of entrants in this year's awards program," said Dave De Walt president of the Documentum division of EMC. "These awards are a testament to not only the innovation of our customers, but also the flexibility and functionality of the Documentum ECM platform." 17.05.2004, Documentum GmbH
