BrowserMedia, a interactive Web development and Internet software company, announced the launch of a newly designed Web site for the Associated General Contractors of America (http://www.agc.org).
The new site features an updated information architecture and strong visual improvements, creating improved user experiences for both site visitors and association members. Visitors to the site will find they can quickly and intuitively browse to relevant content. Or, by logging into the members only area, AGC members will find unique content specifically targeted to them. Working with Grant Thorton, a leading implementation firm and reseller for iMIS association management software, BrowserMedia structured the Web site to include and integrate AGC's preexisting iMIS web applications.
Web administration for the redesigned site is accomplished through BrowserCMS(TM), BrowserMedia's Web Content Management System (CMS). AGC is able to add, edit, and delete content within the site, as well as control the site structure, through a simple Web based interface.
"The information on our site will be constantly changing over time," said Dave Golden, Director of Internet Services at AGC, "so content management was an important consideration. We needed a platform that would be robust enough to support our significant Web traffic, but also intuitive and usable for our staff in the long term. At the same time, we were undertaking a significant redesign to improve the visual attractiveness and usability of the site, so it was important that the CMS not artificially limit the designers options in terms of look and feel or layout."
As an additional task under the contract, BrowserMedia will provide web hosting, search tools, e-mail, and systems support for more than 15 other Web sites affiliated with AGC chapters throughout the country.
