Mobius Management Systems, Inc., provider of software for total content management (TCM), and EMC Corporation, provider of information storage and management, announced a new, pre-tested compliance solution to help customers reduce costs and improve service levels while meeting requirements for fast retrieval. The EMC Proven Content Archiving and Retrieval Solution (CARS) with Mobius is an architecture and implementation service that provides the benefits of central online document and records management at lower cost and complexity.

CARS with Mobius relies on sophisticated content management software and storage components to capture, store, and rapidly retrieve content in multiple formats from multiple sources. Consolidating departmental archives improves operational efficiency and provides greater control over information. Huge volumes of bills, statements, check images, report output, correspondence and more can be transformed into the appropriate format for online presentment to a variety of stakeholders, including customers, employees, and auditors.

Mobius's ViewDirect TCM software, EMC tiered storage platforms, and implementation services make up this new EMC Proven Solution. The highly scalable ViewDirect TCM repository serves as both a long-term archive for regulatory compliance and a real-time engine for Web delivery of document- based content. The software suite includes tools for integrating, viewing, and delivering content, as well as accessing it across multiple repositories.

EMC's tiered suite of networked storage systems -- EMC Symmetrix, EMC CLARiiON, EMC Celerra and EMC Centera -- match the right technology to specific business needs, at the right price. Leveraging Centera's API and standards-based access methods, this EMC Proven Solution can be easily deployed in both open systems and mainframe environments.

Implementation by EMC Global Services and Mobius Professional Services accelerates deployment and return on investment, while the tape-to-disk migration service enables online access to existing tape archives. Migrating archives from low service level storage (paper, film, fiche, tape, optical) and storing data on the right storage medium gives organizations the benefits of enhanced information lifecycle management (ILM).

"Integration between ViewDirect TCM and EMC tiered storage platforms gives our customers a secure, cost-effective solution for managing high-volume content repositories," said David Winkler, vice president of product marketing at Mobius. "Our customers store and access huge volumes of unchanging content including bills, statements, check images, report output, scanned forms, e-mail, transactions, policies, customer correspondence and more. Mobius and EMC help them manage this diverse content through its lifecycle retention to meet regulatory requirements."

"Information management is one of the most difficult components of compliance programs," said Don Swatik, EMC's vice president of global solutions. "EMC and Mobius created an EMC Proven Solution designed to provide organizations with document archiving and retrieval options to help customers address compliance requirements. By making compliance part of a comprehensive approach to managing the lifecycle of information, customers can increase the efficiency of compliance efforts, lower costs and meet changing business needs in an evolving regulatory environment."

EMC Proven Solutions enable organizations to address their most pressing business challenges while lowering costs and improving service levels throughout the information lifecycle. Backed by stringent testing, seamless partner integration and documented implementation methodologies, EMC Proven Solutions reduce complexity and ensure faster deployment for customers.
