Communication Is Under Control With The Bitrix Content Management System
Bitrix Site Manager provides new features of forum management for the site administrators and new adventures for the forum visitors. The main aim is to make forum easy to control and interesting for visiting.
Post editing
The visitors can edit their posts in the forum. Even after the message has been posted it can be corrected. Every registered and authorized user can edit his/her post. There is only one restriction: if an answer is posted, only the forum administrator is able to edit this post as only the administrator has the right to edit any posts. To edit the post you are to click the "Edit" link located below the post.
Forum topic opening and closing
With the Bitrix content management system forum administrators have the right to stop the discussion and close any forum topic as well as to restore the discussion or to start a new topic.
Topic moving between forums
The administrator can move the topic between forums. This is necessary in order to move the topic from the open discussion to the closed section or, vice versa, to allow all the visitors to take part in the discussion.
Search in forums
The search in forums feature is increased. Now the users can search the keyword not in all forums but specify in what forum exactly the necessary keyword or phrase can be found. Besides, Bitrix content management enables you to make the search by the post author’s name.
User profile
New fields are added to the user profile: "sex", "photo" and "avatar". When editing their profile the forum members can upload a small image which will be used as avatar and displayed in the public part of the forum.
In Bitrix Site Manager the profile editing form is integrated with the user information editing form. Thus, the administrator can view or change the user information in one section of the administrative part of the site. 12.07.2004, Bitrix PR department
