FileNet Listed in 'Leader' Quadrant in Magic Quadrant Analyst Report

FileNet Corporation, provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions, announced that it has been positioned in the "Leader" quadrant by Gartner Inc., a premier industry research and advisory firm, in their 2004 Magic Quadrant assessment of Pure-Play Business Process Management (BPM) vendor offerings.
According to Gartner, "Leaders" are vendors who are performing well today, have a clear vision of the market direction, and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market.
The report, titled "Magic Quadrant for Pure-Play BPM, 2Q04," authored by Jim Sinur, vice president and distinguished analyst, also cites that, "Vendors in the Leader quadrant are most likely to have high revenue in this market, high market share and products that are of interest to a wide audience." Additionally, the report states, "We rate vendor and product viability heavily in this Magic Quadrant. Overall economic conditions in this market in general, and in this segment in particular, are challenging; hence buyers are justifiably concerned about whether their choices of BPM technology will survive the ongoing industry shakeout."(1)

"We consider our inclusion in the "Leader" quadrant for the second consecutive year as confirmation that our business process capability is best of breed within the industry," said Lee Roberts, chairman and CEO, FileNet Corporation. "Our customers recognize that effectively managing their processes is a business imperative for gaining competitive and operational advantage. We believe that in today's dynamic environment, FileNet's business process management functionality is a vital tool that enables companies to quickly react to events as they occur, easing response to changing market conditions, minimizing competitive threats and improving return on investment."
Gartner Magic Quadrant Highlights the Importance of BPM
The Magic Quadrant report is significant because Gartner, one of the most influential industry analyst groups, defines BPM as an enterprise imperative. In a time when enterprises need every advantage to maximize differentiation, competitive advantage and shareholder value, interest in BPM continues to grow despite economic pressures. Companies utilizing the right BPM capabilities are conquering these challenges to gain a true competitive edge by automating, integrating and optimizing repetitive critical business processes at every level of their organization.
FileNet's ECM: Focused on Better, Faster Decision-Making
As an industry visionary, FileNet believes that above all else, succeeding in today's competitive business environment requires dynamic and informed decision-making. This requires the right business content be aggregated and delivered to the right people at the "critical moment" when a decision must be executed, so they have all the information necessary to make informed and accurate decisions. Faster decision-making can increase efficiency, improve service, reduce costs and ultimately increase profitability. Also, access to the right information at the right time can help employees avoid making poor or uninformed decisions, helping to manage corporate risk.
FileNet's P8 architecture combines comprehensive process management, integration capabilities and rich content management to drive better, faster decision-making. The company's entire product line is differentiated by its comprehensive BPM capabilities, which include integrated process simulation, reporting and analytics, enabling customers to optimize business processes in real time. 16.07.2004, Contentmanager
