FileNet Corporation, provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions, announced continued adoption of its FileNet P8 ECM platform by both customers and partners around the globe. This market momentum comes on the heels of the company's introduction of FileNet P8 3.0, which offers new features and functionality.

FileNet P8 is an integrated framework that combines industry leading content, process and connectivity capabilities in a single unified solution, delivering an application development framework specifically designed to promote ease of use, rapid application development and lower total cost of ownership. The FileNet P8 platform features a unique, scalable architecture designed to offer customers, systems integrators and solution developers the ability to quickly and easily develop customized ECM solutions.

State of Michigan Deploys FileNet P8

Customers currently using the FileNet P8 platform include the State of Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency, which is responsible for distributing $50 million in unemployment benefits weekly to the more than 700,000 constituents it serves across the state of Michigan. Faced with this level of claims, the agency had a large number of claims that required adjudication. The agency deployed FileNet P8 to help improve the efficiency, accountability, accessibility, quality and accuracy of the Unemployment Insurance Benefits program for the benefit of staff, claimants, and employers.

FileNet P8's integration of content, process and connectivity allows agency employees to respond quicker to claims since every piece of reference material is captured and linked to work items. The system escalates older work items to priority status as they age to ensure prompt processing of claims. Analytics and reporting enable management to track key performance metrics for continuous monitoring and improvement.

"FileNet P8 technology helps improve overall efficiency by streamlining our processes and providing quick access to work and the associated content," said Chris Peretto, director of Customer Service, Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency. "The Automated Work Distribution System (AWDS), which was built on top of FileNet's P8 framework, enables us to make better decisions faster and provide better customer service, streamlining the delivery of critical unemployment benefits to Michigan families in need. We anticipate our investment in FileNet P8 technology will enable us to efficiently manage our workload, have a positive impact on our Federal timeliness statistics, and eliminate a significant number of manual tasks previously required by staff."

BearingPoint and Getronics Embrace FileNet P8

FileNet's network of global systems integrators have embraced the FileNet P8 platform, leveraging FileNet's ECM architecture to enter new markets and develop solutions to solve a broad set of customer business challenges.

Among the key alliance partners leveraging FileNet P8 is BearingPoint, FileNet's worldwide system integrator of the year. "We see FileNet ECM as an industry-leading solution," said Christopher Formant, BearingPoint's executive vice president, Financial Services. "ECM is a very important part of the landscape for our client base. FileNet P8 offers strong content and business process management capabilities within an integrated framework that is highly scalable and highly configurable to meet the growing requirements of our enterprise customers."

Also helping to expand FileNet's global footprint for its FileNet P8 technology is Getronics. With approximately 22,000 employees in more than 30 countries and revenues of more than EUR $2.6 billion, Getronics is one of the world's leading providers of vendor independent information and communication technology solutions and services.

"Leveraging the FileNet P8 framework, we can service our clients as an ECM solution provider and system integrator by providing a complete, fully featured ECM enabling infrastructure to our clients, allowing them to increase process performance, reduce cycle times and improve productivity," said Serge Desaranno, director, Global Competence and Marketing Centre, Enterprise Content Management, for Getronics.

FileNet P8 Powers ISV Solutions

FileNet has partnered with a number of solution providers that are integrating the FileNet P8 framework into their applications and solutions offerings.

NISYS used FileNet P8 technology to develop its Lifecycle Management Suite 3.0 (LMS) application for consumer lending. The solution includes the LMS Lending Platform and the LMS Post Closing Application. The LMS Lending Platform can provide a configurable technology platform that allows consumer lenders to automate manual gaps in existing loan processes. The LMS Post Closing Application is designed to automate the entire business process of reviewing a closed loan.

The FileNet P8 framework also powers Soluziona's ManagedPay offering. The solution is an out-of-the-box business process management solution that helps streamline invoice processing by electronically managing interactions across supply chain partners, back-office applications, and the people who control the processes. The solution is designed to provide a structure for transforming manual, paper-intensive processes into cohesive and automated functions that complement existing enterprise applications.
