Factiva Search and Track Tools Available for BEA WebLogic Portal Customers

Factiva(R), a Dow Jones and Reuters Company, today announced the availability of search and tracking tools for customers of BEA WebLogic Portal(TM) 8.1. The new Factiva tools are designed to integrate with BEA's portal via standards-based portlets, which help customers reduce costs as they deliver new capabilities into enterprise portals.
BEA WebLogic Portal 8.1 is the first portal designed to enable customers to integrate Factiva content using the JSR168 standard for portlet integration. This allows BEA's customers to download and integrate business information from Factiva and other BEA partner Web sites into their own BEA WebLogic-based portals and wireless browser devices in a virtually plug and play mode - which enables them to have quicker access to the right information to make better business decisions.
"Factiva's open platform and its ability to easily apply new industry standards, such as JSR168, can help to enable our customers to eliminate the unwieldy task of manually integrating vast amounts of information into their portals," said Ken Goldberg, Head of Business Development, BEA Systems. "This can make for a better experience for end users, while helping to reduce development costs."
"The BEA WebLogic platform is designed to offer a simpler way to develop, deploy, integrate, and manage enterprise applications and Web Services," said Clare Hart, president and CEO of Factiva. "Factiva's flexible technology and premium global content can easily integrate into BEA's platform, helping to give BEA's customers an advantage which can accelerate their competitive decision cycles."05.08.2004, Factiva
