Kintera to Provide Technology and Operations Support to YMCA Member Associations
Kintera(R) Inc., provider of "software as a service" for community service organizations and other nonprofits, announced that the company has been selected by the YMCA of the USA (Y-USA) to provide technology and operations support for its Y-Metro(TM) membership management software.
The multi-year Kintera contract includes support for 30 Y-Metro "customers," consisting of 28 YMCA and two YWCA member associations using the Y-Metro application, which serve over one million aggregate members. Headquartered in Chicago, the YMCA of the USA is ranked #1 in income based on 2002 fiscal data, according to The NonProfit Times "NPT 100" annual listing of America's largest nonprofits.
"Kintera has a management team and support system in place that is able to handle the needs of organizations as large and complex as major YMCAs in various communities including Milwaukee, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Detroit," said Kintera's co-founder and CEO, Harry Gruber, M.D. "We appreciate the opportunity to serve Y-USA and their member associations with current and future software support, as we help the YMCA achieve their mission of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities."
Gruber added that, over time, these 30 YMCA associations and others using the Y-Metro software will be offered an opportunity to migrate to the Kintera Sphere(TM) software platform featuring a unified database with workflow tools to help manage memberships, financial development and programs. A web browser is all that is needed to access Kintera's easy-to-use system for contact relationship management (CRM), program registration, financial development tools, content managed websites (CMS), fundraising, membership, eCommerce, payment processing and eMarketing.
Kintera supports six other YMCA member associations and one Jewish Community Center in conjunction with each organization's legacy database system, in addition to the 30 associations using the Y-Metro application included with Kintera's new contract. Kintera also has a contract in place with YWCA USA, which includes relaunching the YWCA's national website at www.ywca.org, along with nine regional and 288 local sites.
