Energy services provider utilizes Stellent Universal Content Management to power intranet and public Internet site; solution integrates with legacy systems and provides mobile access to information

Stellent, Inc. announced today that Ameren, Corp., an energy services company, is using Stellent® Universal Content Management to power its intranet and public Internet site, enabling the company to realize a variety of significant business benefits –– including the ability to enhance some of its training programs; streamline its document and content management processes; and lower its software licensing costs.

“The Stellent solution allows Ameren to more effectively manage and share our content internally and externally via the Web,” said Lisa Rikand, IT group business consultant for Ameren. “Stellent’s Web content management and document management functionalities are easy to use, regardless of technical ability, permitting us to use it across a number of important business functions.”

For example, the Stellent solution has allowed Ameren to update, manage and utilize its training materials located on the company’s intranet more efficiently. Now, instructors are able to teach more courses, and the solution’s electronic storage and delivery capabilities provide employees secure, any-time access to more than 2,700 training documents used in approximately 150 courses.

Stellent Universal Content Management also streamlines Ameren’s content and document management processes, increasing employee productivity. Virtually all of Ameren’s nearly 7,600 employees – including mobile workers with wireless devices – can access and efficiently search for business information found on the company’s intranet and public Internet site. The Stellent system also integrates with Ameren’s accounts payable and work management systems to more effectively manage thousands of invoices and equipment maintenance information.

Furthermore, the Stellent solution has reduced Ameren’s software application licensing costs. “Because the Stellent system allows us to view and access any type of document as a PDF file or in HTML, we no longer need to install every native application on every employee’s computer,” Rikand stated. “This translates into savings for our organization.”

“Ameren’s extensive content management implementation demonstrates the powerful, scalable nature of our technology,” said Robert Olson, president and chief executive officer for Stellent. “Companies of all sizes in a variety of industries use our comprehensive content management solution to drive rapid business success across their enterprises.”
