In-Systcom, Inc. announced that through it's SeaLynx(TM) System, the cruise operator housing the system is offered the tremendous opportunity of receiving integrated, role-based content management, aside from the In-Suite Interactive Services, such as E-mail, Internet and Video on Demand, afforded to their passengers.
Wil Riner, Sr., Chairman and CEO, explained that the SeaLynx(TM) System product is dually advantageous. In addition to enabling the cruise ship passengers to convenient amenities within their cabin, the cruise operators are able to refine their operations by transmitting information, normally broadcasted via traditional printed methods, electronically.
"The SeaLynx(TM) Content Management System (SCMS) provides access controlled, template driven screens, that when updated, allow changes to appear directly on the passenger screens under the SeaLynx(TM) "Ship Information" button. For events, excursions, cruise information, crew data, ship data, phone list, food menus, etc., there is no longer a need to print paper. Further, screens advertising products can be linked directly to SeaLynx(TM) applets that can directly take reservations/purchases resulting from this data," stated Mr. Riner.
SCMS provides role based content publication capabilities that allow defined personnel on board, or on land, to eliminate the expensive paper trail that accompanies merchandising of shipboard services and excursions.
SCMS is a JAVA/JSP based application, based upon the emerging standard API for Java content repositories (JCR), making SCMS compatible with most leading CMS applications. SCMS can be run on the SeaLynx(TM) server, standalone server, or land based server.
The flexible design of SeaLynx(TM) allows screens from the SCMS, or any other cruise-corporate CMS to be displayed directly in the suite.
"Never before has the cruise industry had a business tool like this to bring real time reach, directly to the suite level to drive sales through rapid re-merchandising," said Peter DeMilio, President of In-Systcom, Inc.
