Interwoven, Inc., provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for business, announced that it will release a version of its TeamSite content management software for the Linux platform. TeamSite will join Interwoven OpenDeploy and Interwoven WorkSite MP on the Linux platform to make the industry's most comprehensive ECM available on the fast-growing, open standards-based operating system. The initial release of TeamSite for Linux, a Workgroup Edition, will ensure a low total cost of ownership for departmental solution deployments such as employee self-service, portals and intranets.

In a recent report, Gartner observed that, "Linux remains one of the most-watched OSs for servers. From its open-source roots to Web-serving applications to high-performance computing functions, Linux continues to grow in the worldwide market." ("Linux Faces Bright Future on Servers," Jeffrey Hewitt, October 30, 2003).

The introduction of TeamSite for Linux extends Interwoven's commitment to the Linux platform, which has become the industry's fastest-growing server operating system. Interwoven has long been committed to open standards, including J2EE and SOAP, which play an increasingly important role in enterprise technology. Its WorkSite MP multi-platform collaborative document management product line supports Linux, as does OpenDeploy, the company's content distribution product. With the introduction of TeamSite for Linux, Interwoven addresses the full range of ECM needs, including collaboration, document management, e-mail management, Web content management, and content distribution, across all major operating system environments.

The Workgroup Edition of TeamSite for Linux is an extremely attractive platform for departmental use because of its ease of development and deployment, a low entry price point and low total cost of ownership. Said John Emerson, CIO of Stanislaus County, "For a budget-conscious organization like ours, open-source technologies like Linux enable us to be advanced where we simply couldn't have afforded otherwise. By making their solutions available on Linux, Interwoven has taken that one step further -- now even a small organization or department can have the same complete and powerful ECM capabilities used by a global corporation. Linux can scale either way at very little cost, with excellent reliability and performance, essential for a product such as TeamSite that will be used 24x7."

"By delivering a proven, comprehensive ECM suite for Linux, we are enabling our customers to take advantage of the benefits of the operating system without sacrificing the development of valuable business solutions," said Kevin Cochrane, vice president, WCM products and solutions.

Interwoven TeamSite for Linux supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES version 3. A license for the Workgroup Edition, which encompasses five websites and 100 users, starts at $49,000. General availability is scheduled for September 2004.

08.09.2004, Interwoven Inc.
