Solution supports online service delivery, and provides "an attractive interface for administrators and end users" says National Archives

Hyperwave eRecords Suite has been approved against the 2002 Functional Requirements of the National Archives for Document and Records Management systems. After undergoing thorough testing during May 2004, Hyperwave is currently the only suite provider that can offer a fully integrated Electronic Records Management solution accredited against the 2002 revised requirements.

Aids compliance with Freedom of Information Act

This makes the eRecords Suite highly suited to organisations looking to meet UK e-government requirements such as supporting online service delivery, or comply with the Freedom of Information Act. It is already being piloted by a number of local government consortia across the UK and can be purchased through GCat approved suppliers, Bull and HP. Deployment times are under 8 weeks.

Praised by the National Archives

The eRecords Suite won high praise from the National Archives, with the final report including the following statement: "Hyperwave’s eRecords Suite presents an attractive interface for administrators and end users. Once familiar with the layout, the system is intuitive to use, with standard formats and good use of labeling and navigation options." It also states: "the system is highly configurable (which could also lend itself to customer-specific customisation)."

Michael Hollauf, Director of Product Marketing at Hyperwave, emphasised the significance of the accreditation for the company. "For a specialist Public Sector software provider like Hyperwave, accreditation by the National Archives for our Electronic Document and Records Management offering has been a vital step towards becoming one of the major players in this sector in the UK. Furthermore, achieving compliance in the first attempt, and being the only vendor to offer a fully integrated and web-based suite, has made this success all the more rewarding."

The official formal test report of the Hyperwave eRecords Suite is available from the National Archives extranet site, and a List of Approved System can be viewed online at http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/electronicrecords/reqs2002/approved.htm.

Advanced records management functionality

The eRecords Suite provides advanced functionality for fileplan structuring, record retention and disposal, metadata and access rights management, and auditing and reporting. It is part of Hyperwave’s award-winning collaborative Enterprise Content Management suite. Other available modules provide users with flexible content management, collaboration and workflow functionality as well as online conferencing and e-learning capabilities, representing a complete suite of applications for managing information within governmental institutions.
