Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, with Europe’s most visited newspaper website, in co-operation with leading content management software vendor Polopoly, today launch the multiple award-winning premium service The Weight Club as a stand-alone turnkey solution to other media players on an international scale. The Weight Club is Scandinavia’s most successful premium service online ever – providing an opportunity for high-traffic media websites to increase their online revenues with a minimized time-to-market.

Aftonbladet.se, with nearly 6 million unique visitors monthly, initially launched the Weight Club in May 2003. This premium service has acquired more than 110,000 paying customers in the first year of operations, reaching profitability two months after the initial launch. The Weight Club combines Aftonbladet’s editorial expertise and long history of online pioneering with Polopoly’s technical know-how and experience from working with the most demanding media players.
