Centra Software, Inc., provider of specialized solutions delivering software and services for online business collaboration, announced that it has signed an agreement with EMC Corporation, provider of information storage and management, to deliver solutions that integrate its collaboration offerings with EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Management platform. Centra has also joined the EMC Documentum Application Logo Program as a design partner and is working to achieve Designed for Documentum status for its collaborative offerings. The Designed for Documentum logo designation is a mark of quality and value that customers insist on in enterprise applications.

Centra has worked with some of the world's largest organizations to help create measurably enhanced productivity through online business collaboration solutions. The new capabilities provided by the Documentum platform will enhance Centra's extensible solutions, enabling joint customers to achieve and exceed expected return on investment by providing a repository to store, search, manage and deliver information and resources in one centralized location. This announcement was made today at Momentum 2004, EMC's worldwide content management user conference in Montreal.

Rob Tarkoff, senior vice president and chief strategy officer at EMC Software said, "EMC is pleased to work with Centra to deliver integrated content management and collaboration capabilities to greatly enhance customers' ability to implement strategic enterprise content management initiatives. Working with companies like Centra is a key part of our go-to-market strategy, helping EMC extend its reach across all markets and industries and providing capabilities that extend the value of our technology."

The combination of Centra and EMC will maximize the ability of Global 5000 customers, universities and government agencies, to manage content created through Centra-powered events using the Documentum platform as the central content repository. Using sophisticated capabilities for categorizing and assigning content, organizations can more flexibly and accurately target the selection and delivery of information to individual users according to their job profile, skills, and knowledge gaps. This unified view of enterprise content will increase the efficiency of business processes and maximize the value of the customer's digital assets, leading to increased company performance.

According to Mike Gotta, senior vice president at META Group, a leading provider of IT research, advisory services and strategic consulting, "Collaboration tools have historically been procured in an ad-hoc fashion, resulting in numerous, isolated content repositories that function outside enterprise-wide information management strategies. Not only does this increase risk due to compliance and other regulatory demands, it also inhibits an organization from leveraging and reusing content across applications and Web sites. Adopting a unified architecture for content and collaboration delivers a strategic advantage in terms of improving business performance and worker productivity that companies should exploit."

"We are committed to providing integration and support for leading solutions like the EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Management platform, to provide higher levels of productivity and cost savings to our mutual customers," said James L. Freeze, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Centra. "Companies increasingly see the need to integrate their content management capability with existing solutions. Our integration with the Documentum platform provides a dynamic, scalable solution that delivers personalized content, and a means for more efficient collaboration with employees, suppliers and partners. And our pursuit of Designed for Documentum accreditation for Centra for Collaborative Learning indicates Centra's level of commitment to quality and value to our joint customers."

Based on best practices gained while working with more than 1,200 leading organizations worldwide, Centra's four solution areas - Centra for Enterprise Application Rollouts, Centra for Sales Effectiveness, Centra for Collaborative Learning, and Centra for Customer Acquisition - automate and facilitate the planning, execution and evaluation phases of mission-critical online business initiatives. By adopting these solutions, leading organizations around the globe have significantly lowered costs and increased productivity and revenue.
