Hyperwave AG, provider of collaborative Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and e-learning solutions, has announced availability of the new Hyperwave eLearning Suite 2.0. Seamless integration into the Hyperwave ECM infrastructure allows faster, decentralised course production, provides audio-visual support for course participants and a variety of statistical evaluations for on-going content optimisation.
The link to Hyperwave Content Management allows both the production of ad-hoc courses from the central repository and integration of standard courses via the build in SCORM 1.2 interfaces (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) and AICC (Aviation Industry CBT Committee).
Seamless integration with Hyperwave eConferencing Suite generates extensive possibilities for synchronous and asynchronous communication - from info-boards and chats, discussion forums and email to a virtual classroom with audio/video conferencing and application sharing.
The possibilities offered by conventional e-Learning are complemented by didactic elements of blended learning. In this way, classroom courses are now supported that optimise direct exchange between individual participants. A new feature is the administration of course dependencies, which supports the conception of structured courses for complex learning content. A new assessment function for course participants provides direct and detailed feedback on current learning content. Furthermore, course participants have the opportunity to produce a certificate for successfully completed courses based on their results.
"Hyperwave eLearning Suite 2.0 clearly shows the advantages of a fully integrated learning environment in contrast to conventional isolated applications. Ultimately, it is possible to train employees based on existing company knowledge and at the same time to drastically reduce implementation time", says Andreas Helios, Director Global Marketing at Hyperwave. "In times of virtual teams and highly flexible project groups the ability to transfer learning content by means other than traditional on-site training is a critical success factor".
The latest Gartner study for the e-learning sector (Magic Quadrant for E-Learning Suites, 2004) views Hyperwave as a forward-thinking company. Gartner emphasises in particular the interaction of Hyperwave’s eConferencing Suite, which allows both web conferencing and virtual classrooms. Hyperwave eLearning Suite is based on the proven enterprise content management platform Hyperwave IS/6.
