Hit
The number of times a webserver is accessed creating a request for a webpage. Each request for the loading of information is counted as a hit. This means that a single webpage can create many hits, as every button, graphic or embedded object can generate a hit. If a website contains a text and several images each of these things generates a hit upon the request of the site. For this reason, the number of hits is not an exact indicator of the number of visitors to a website and therefore not a good indicator of success (e.g. for a banner). | ![]() ![]() | |||||||
